These are the 12 Free Blogging Tools For Beginners

Blogging could have been hard if there were no proper tools for keyword research, content writing and marketing. Moreover, these tools should be accessible for everyone, free of cost.

So, here is a list of the best free blogging tools for beginners.

Google Search

You must be confused about how Google search is a tool. Right? Those who follow me on this blog know that I use Google for keyword research.

So, for those who don’t know, here’s how I do it. I brainstorm different topics and note it down. After that, I open an Incognito window and goes to google.com.

Then, I enter 1 or 2 words from a particular topic that I selected. If Google suggests the rest, then that particular keyword should be getting a good amount of traffic.

So, I select that keyword and again search that whole keyword on Google to see if there are any competition for me.

I use MozBar to check for competition.

MozBar

MozBar is a Chrome plugin developed by MOZ. It shows you the Domain Authority(DA) and the Page Authority(PA) of different websites.

The higher the DA and PA, the higher will be their authority.

So, when I search the selected keyword on Google, Mozbar displays PA and DA under each website of the search result. If most of these websites have DA and PA less than 20. I select that particular keyword and write content on them.

If PA and DA are above 20 for most of the websites, it’s better not to write content on that keyword, instead use this same method to find other keywords.

If you want more information, check out this article where I help you rank your blog using this method.

Google Trends

I hardly use this tool. But it helps you find the trend of traffic for a particular keyword. It’s not great for long-tail keywords but for short keywords, it’s almost accurate.

You can also compare different keyword and help you choose the one that has higher traffic.

It also shows the geographical area from where a particular keyword gets maximum traffic and also shows the related keywords.

Rank Math SEO

This is one of the best free blogging tools for beginners. It basically helps you write an SEO optimised article.

Previously, I was using Yoast SEO, but it had some paid features which were free on Rank Math SEO. So, I had to switch.

Both these plugins are great, the only difference is that Rank Math SEO is completely free.

After you select your keyword, There is an input form at the bottom of your edit page, called Focus keyword. Add your keyword there.

This helps you write the article focusing that keyword so that it helps you rank.

Grammarly

This is the next best tool on this list. Grammarly helps you reduce errors by helping you in grammar and spelling mistakes. Although there is a paid version, the free one is just fine.

The paid version helps you vocabulary, overused words, unclear sentences etc. But for basic spelling and grammar mistakes, the free one is more than enough.

Pexels

Most of the photos from my website are from Pexels, which provides free stock photos. These photos do not have any copyright, so you can use it anywhere you want.

There are millions of photos on Pexels covering almost every niche. So you will most probably find something related to your blog post.

If you can’t find it there, some alternatives to it are – Unsplash, Pixabay, iStock etc.

You can go to Pexels from here

TinyJPG

Your website needs to be fast. if you upload 2 or 3 MB sized photos on your blog. your website will eventually become slow.

So compressing these photos is a great idea. For that, I use TinyJPG. It compresses your photos without compromising on the quality.

Canva

I use Canva mainly for designing my logo, Instagram posts etc. You can design photos in any way you want.

There are a lot of templates on Canva, so you can select and edit them as far as you want.

Google Search Console

This tool helps you find where you rank on specific keywords. Once you know where you rank, you can start improving it by changing the On-page or Off-page SEO.

This tool also allows you to request indexing of your blog post on Google. Which then instructs Google bots to crawl on your website. If it doesn’t produce any errors, your blog post will be indexed on Google.

UberSuggest

This is a free tool developed by Neil Patel. He is a blogger and an internet marketer. The tool is kind of like a free alternative to Semrush.

It has a keyword research tool but I don’t recommend using it. It’s because the information is wrong.

However, you can use it for exploring different content to write and also for tracking your competitors.

Tracking your competitors is easy, you can just enter their domain name and find for which keywords they rank. If you have a higher authority than them, you have a possibility to rank for the same keywords.

Jetpack

Jetpack is a popular WordPress plugin developed by the creators of WordPress itself. It has a lot of powerful features such as anti-spam filter, automatic backup etc. However, they are only available for paid users.

I use Jetpack to track my pageviews. It shows which all links were clicked, search terms and many others.

Sumo

Sumo is a free marketing tool like GetResponse, MailChimp etc. But however, has limited features than them. But still, for a beginner, it’s one of the best.

You can add unlimited number of subscribers and send 10,000 emails per month on the Free plan.

It even has automations so that you can send emails to your subscribers when a particular event occurs.
