How to Find Hot Niches for Your Drop Servicing Business

Drop servicing business is quite new at this stage and only a very few people have started this business. So, there are a lot of untapped niches to start with.

But, That doesn’t mean you can start with anything because some niches may be dominated by original freelancers or other businesses.

For egs, something like logo designing is already very competitive with both freelancers and huge businesses dominating this space.

So, we will need to stay away from those niches.

Here are the step-by-step procedure to find the best niches for drop servicing:

1. Traffic Analysis

The first step is to find a service which has a little bit of traffic.

Go to Fiverr.com and sign up on the platform. In the homepage, You will find a lot of services listed. On the top of the page, there will be a lot of categories listed.

Hover your mouse over them and you will see a ton of sub categories listed in each one of them.

Start clicking on each one of them and see if the first page results get any orders on them. Anything greater than 80-100 orders is a good niche.

List all the niches in a separate notepad and move to the next step

2. Analysing The competition

There are two ways you can start this business, the free way and the paid one which I have explained in detail in my drop servicing free short course.

So, This step may differ from yours depending on which way you started. I am going to show the paid one here.

P.S – The free method completely depends on Fiverr because that’s where you will be listing your service. However, you can check out this actionable guide which shows you how to get your first order on Fiverr!

For the paid method, we use Google Ads to drive in traffic to your website. The competition for these niches must be pretty low so that we can run a successful ad campaign.

Google has a free tool for assessing the competition called Google Keyword Planner which is accessible from Google Adwords. (Now, if you can’t access the tool without inputting your credit card details, here’s how you can get it for free without any billing details.)

Want to know more about Google Keyword Planner before proceeding? Have a look at this article.

Once you are in there, click on “Discover New Keywords”. Then open up the notepad and input each of the niches that you collected in the above step.

Before inputting, check if your location is set to all locations. But, if you are targetting specific countries then just select those locations only.

You will see something like this depending on what you have searched:-

Here you can see 4 different parameters for each keyword, and you can select that as your niche if it satisfies all 4 conditions below

  • Average monthly Searches – Must be as high as possible. Usually “1K-10K” is good. “10K-100K” and above are awesome.
  • Competition – Must be “Low” or “Very Low”. You should not even choose “Medium”.
  • Top of the page bid (low range) – Should be very low. Less than $0.5 or $1 to be exact.
  • Top of the page bid (High range) – Should also be low. Less than $1 or $2.

If any of the niches written on your notepad ticks all the 4 boxes above, Select that one and move forward.

All the 10 niches that I have added here are based on Worldwide competition and traffic. (Since I set my google Adwords filter to all locations).

So, if your plan is to target a specific country, you may have to analyse these niches again by going to the keyword planner.

1. Mockups

Mockups or product mockups are basically design models that people use for promotion.

The example below is a mockup of a book that is used for promoting.

There is a huge demand for these product-mockups on the internet. These mockups may not only be just books, but it also can be medical, food, fashion products etc.

Fiverr has more than 3500 freelancers selling this particular service. You may choose the right freelancer according to your needs.

You may sell this service for atleast a $100 on your website.

2. Youtube Intros

There are a lot of beginner YouTubers out there who are trying to grow their respective channels. These people may not have a good intro for their youtube videos.

You can offer this service at around $100-$200. Fiverr has quite a few freelancers providing this service. It will cost you above $50 from them.

The unique thing about this service is that, if you don’t have the money to run ads, you can do the free way.

But, to be frank, this will take time. All you have to do is go to youtube and find YouTubers who have around 500-2000 subscribers. Check out their intros, if you think it’s ugly, you can email them from the about section of their channel talking about your business proposal.

Email as many people as you can, but don’t expect to get a client the first day itself!

If you want, you can provide a Youtube Outro service as well.

Now, I am not saying about professional game developers like EA, Rockstar. They have their own video editors.

I am talking about the small developers who are out there trying to come out into the spotlight.

You could charge $100-$300 per trailer.

4. Data Entry

There are a ton of data entry jobs on Fiverr. Data entry can be almost anything from typing in an excel to something like data analysis and statistics.

Depending on the level and quality of a freelancer from Fiverr, you may choose a particular data entry service.

These services are mostly ordered by business people and entrepreneurs who don’t have time for these kinds of small jobs.

This service can be priced according to the different freelancer you select. Your pricing will determine the profitability of this business.

5. Album Cover Design

Most musicians and singers don’t have the skills to design their album covers.

You can’t expect John Legend to order from you but the newbie singers and musicians will quite benefit from this service.

You can charge around $50-$100 for each art. You could, however, charge a bit higher but when starting it’s best to charge a little less for your services.

6. Storyboards

Storyboards are like comics where there will be a series of images which describes a particular story.

Film making industries usually use these Storyboards in their planning and production processes. They are literally, a good way to represent visual and technical requirements of a production.

For you, filmmakers are most likely not going to contact you but other small short story or web series directors may get in touch with you.

You could charge more than $100 for each service that you offer.

Infographics are large banner-like images which are used by bloggers and digital marketers in their content.

They are quite easy to make but these people don’t quite have the time to do so. There are lots of freelancers who provide this service for as low as $5.

I would recommend you price this anywhere around $50-$100 depending on the length of the infographic.

10. Script Writing

Scriptwriting can be anything from a short ad script to something as big as a movie.
